Before getting to know about the exam it is better to have some idea about the IIITH. International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIITH) is an autonomous university, founded as a not-for-profit public-private partnership in 1998. Over the years, the institute has evolved strong research programmes in various areas, with an emphasis on technology and applied research for industry and society.

IIITH offers 3 postgraduate degree programs, namely MTech, MS and PhD. The duration of MTech and MS is 2 years, while the duration for a PhD is 5 years. Below given are the courses offered under each degree program.

PGEE - Exam Details
PGEE is offered as a computer-based exam, to be attended at test centres. For a list of centers refer here. The process for entrance into each degree program varies slightly as mentioned below.
The admission for the M.Tech programme is solely based on the written exam which involves General Aptitude and Subject Tests.
For MS and PhD programmes candidates will be shortlisted for subject interviews based on a written General Aptitude Test. The decision on the final offer of admission is solely based on the interview performance.
Applicants for PhD in Human Sciences program need not take the General Aptitude Test. You will be asked to submit a research statement after the application deadline. The shortlisting for the interview will be done based on your CV and research statement.

PGEE - Application
The application for the exam is open and is online-based only. A non-refundable application fee of INR 2500 is applicable.
